Every fall, Old Bethpage Village Restoration hosts the Long Island Fair; the official New York State sanctioned county fair for Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Held on the recreated historic Mineola Fairgrounds, the fair features the best of old time county fairs. Thousands of exhibits are entered to compete for blue ribbons in categories such as culinary, horticulture, livestock, needlework and hobbies. In addition, a variety of performers and demonstrators will provide traditional entertainment including: musicians, jugglers, magic shows, puppet shows, a mime, contra dancing and craft demonstrations. over the years my  participtaion was  in fiber art and painting and awarded in  mixed media art buttons  2nd  place prize  wood sculpture 2nd place peize  painted  ceramic .people choice award.
