Hi Team -
Thank you all for your patience the last couple of weeks with the Board transition and our rebrand/relaunch. The Board and the Marketing crew who have been working their butts off, are pleased to announce that we are 98.5% transitioned to the new team name: NY Handmade Collective!
The only hiccup is that we're awaiting approval from Facebook regarding the name change, so we have images and the new logo up, but our name still says Etsy NY.
Anyhow, what this all means for you, is that you are now a member of the NY Handmade Collective. When you use social media, be sure to use our handle @nyhcollective and our main hashtag #nyhandmadecollective. Especially when posting to Instagram and Twitter. We are also open to you using the hashtag #nyhcollective to match our handle, however this is not our primary hashtag.
The winning logo for the team was the apple with NY Handmade Collective along side it designed by Kaitlyn Flipp. Our color currently is gray and will remain gray as our marketing team determines our branding story. Thank you to everyone who voted!
We had a lot of ambitions with this rebrand/relaunch project and we had to scale back a bit to make things a bit more manageable. One of those things is our website. For those of you who recall our call for shop names and links and images for the updated members page a few weeks back, that is now a future project. We are leaving the website as is and will add that as an item to be redone once our branding story is fleshed out. All new members who joined the team in February, will have their shops and links added to the existing member page by next week. We thank you for your patience during this transitional period.
Lastly, many will notice that our main photo has changed on the website and facebook and twitter accounts. Until we have a new banner and can corral as many of you teammates together for a team photo, we are going with that image. It is welcoming, kind of provocative, and taken fairly recently - at last year's Cavalcade. I did my best to not have a photo that showcases one particular teammate's brand over another; opting for one that shows our team in action, but also that isn't about products, but instead our customer base. Thanks for that great sign Hook and Matter and for taking that photo Kaitlyn!
With that said, thank you to everyone for your participation in this process. And let's show the Tri-State area what NY Handmade Collective is all about!
Any and all marketing inquiries can be directed to marketing.nyhc@gmail.com.
Thanks!
